Holding a series of posters, Tina shared her views on the current state of women's independence, questioning if true independence has been achieved. She stated, “Till date, women lack access to quality education and healthcare! Early marriage & childbearing limits educational & career opportunities! Women are underrepresented in political & decision making roles! Social stigma and judgement often deter women from pursuing careers! In many households women’s decisions are still heavily influenced by male family members! The societal expectation for women to balance work & family results in them having to sacrifice career growth! Happy Independence Day! Are we completely independent yet?"

Tina Datta, who has been a prominent face on Indian television, playing the role of Surilli in Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum, and being a part of the reality show Bigg Boss 16, has often used her platform to discuss and advocate for women's rights and empowerment.

By using her voice and platform, Tina is urging her followers and the larger audience to reflect on the true meaning of independence and to strive for a society where women can exercise their rights and pursue their dreams without societal constraints. As India celebrates its Independence Day, her words serve as a reminder that the journey towards complete independence is ongoing and that much work remains to be done to achieve gender equality in every sphere of life.
