The victim fought with the suspect on Tuesday afternoon after learning that he had sent some inappropriate text messages to her friend. Based on the complaint, a case under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (outrage modesty), 354 (A) (sexual harassment), 500 (defamation), 504 (insult), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) was filed against Shetty. “We are going through CCTV footage of the fitness centre,” said deputy commissioner of police (zone IX) Paramjit Singh Dahiya.

Senior inspector Bharat Gaikwad said they are probing the case and did not made arrest till Wednesday evening. Shetty misbehaved and threatened the victim in front of her friends at the fitness centre, police said. Investigating officer Daya Nayak said they had issued a notice under CrPC section 41 to Shetty with orders that he must be present for inquiry before taking action.
