Shraddha Arya: I will miss my husband as he is away, but we both will be fasting today

The Kundali Bhagya actress reveals, “I have made elaborate plans to celebrate my first Karva Chauth, even though my husband (naval officer Rahul Nagal) will not be present as he is sailing. I plan to have a mehendi function a day prior and will gorge on good food with friends, so that we can fast the next day. On Karva Chauth, I will have the sargi in the morning and fast the whole day, and in the evening will go for the puja at my friend Ankita Lokhande’s home. I plan to break the fast at night with a picture of my husband. There may be no network where he is, and I don’t think I will be able to do a video. He spent an entire week a few days back and gifted me a nice handbag for Karva Chauth. The best part is that though he is working, he is also going to fast the entire day. I will miss him.”

Aishwarya Sharma: I kept a fast last year too when I got engaged

The Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein actress, who tied the knot with her co-actor Neil Bhatt, shared, “This will be my first Karva Chauth after marriage, but I did fast for Neil last year, too, when we were engaged. Last year, I was shooting, and Neil fasted for me. After pack-up, when we reached home, I could not see the moon, so along with other building friends, I stepped out on the road and climbed up on a bus-stop stand in my track pants to catch a glimpse of the moon. This year, I have everything set. After my shooting gets over, I will wear a traditional sari. I want to understand more about the rituals from my mother. I will break my fast with Neil, who is also fasting for me. I don’t believe in gifts, but wish for a happy, healthy life for us.”

Sayantani Ghosh: Fasting with my husband is a celebration of togetherness

Sayantani, who is currently shooting for Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul, tells us, “I have never fasted in my adulthood, but now that I am married, I am excited about Karva Chauth. Since I am a Bengali, I will ask my mom-in-law about the rituals involved, and Anugrah (Tiwari) will also fast with me. More than anything, this festival will be a celebration of our togetherness and our bond. I love sarees, so I want to dress up for the occasion.”

Niti Taylor: It will be tough rehearsing for Jhalak and fasting too

Niti, who will be busy with her rehearsals for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, says, “This year, Karva Chauth will be different because I will be busy dancing and preparing for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. My stamina and energy will be low because, without food and water, I don’t know how much I will be able to sustain the whole day. My husband Parikshit (Bawa) is also fasting, so that will be a big motivating reason. I will keep fast with all willpower and follow the rituals. Hopefully, all will go well.”

Bhumika Gurung: I want to enjoy the day

Bhumika, best known as TV’s Nimki, shares, “I have made elaborate plans to follow all rituals for my first Karva Chauth. I plan to enjoy the festival following all the rituals. I had kept a fast last year when I got engaged. I would love to wear a saree and give my attire a bridal touch for my first Karva Chauth. My husband Shekhar (Malhotra) is not going to fast, but we will spend quality time together.”
