Vishal Dadlani has confirmed that he will be back on the judging panel for Indian Idol 16. He took to his Instagram account and shared a behind-the-scenes video with fellow judges
Shreya Ghoshal and
Badshah, officially announcing the news. The confirmation comes months after Vishal had bid goodbye to the show earlier this year.
Back in April, Vishal had revealed the reason behind his exit. He shared that he wanted to focus more on making music and playing concerts, and that staying in Mumbai for six months every year was not something he wished to continue. “Alvida, yaaro. 6 seasons mein jitna mazaa kiya, uss se bhi zyada yaad aayegi. Haqq se zyada pyaar milaa hai, iss show ki vajah se. Eternally grateful to everyone involved. I hope the show will miss me as much as I’ll miss it. I’m literally only leaving because I want my time back. Can’t stay stuck in Mumbai for 6 months each year!” wrote Vishal at the time. However, the singer-composer seems ready to return with full energy for yet another exciting season of Indian Idol.
Recently, Vishal shared a fun-filled BTS video on Instagram with Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah. The video showed the trio striking playful poses for the show’s poster. Sharing the video, Vishal captioned it, “Two posers (don’t miss @shreyaghoshal ‘s last Guplu-max pose) and itsyo-seedha-saada @badboyshah not changing position even once! To answer your question, yes, we are all back for #IndianIdol16. So is all the incredible talent that Idol brings!! Are you ready? See you from October 18 onwards.”
The video instantly caught attention online. Former Indian Idol host Meiyang Chang commented, “The Gang is back,” while Shreya Ghoshal herself responded with laughing emojis. Fans also expressed their happiness. “Delighted to have our 3 musketeers back,” wrote one. Another said, “Wooww this amazing judge panel is back… What a vibe to this judge panel just mind blowing. Shreya ghoshal can’t wait to see you again every week on TV. Love you SG.” A third user simply commented, “Can’t wait for it to start.”

Udit Narayan will host the new season in the absence of his son
Aditya Narayan, who is currently busy with the reality show Rise And Fall. Mid-Day reported that Aditya will return to Indian Idol once his current commitments end.
With Vishal Dadlani, Shreya Ghoshal, and Badshah back as judges, and Udit Narayan reportedly stepping in as host, Indian Idol 16 promises to bring fresh energy, music, and fun to television screens once again. Fans are eagerly waiting for the season to begin on October 18.
