Wedding bells for Avika Gor this Navratri
Balika Vadhu actress Avika Gor is set to marry corporate professional Milind Chandwani on September 30. The couple got engaged in a private ceremony in June, but their wedding will be a grand affair on national television through the show Pati, Patni Aur Panga. Talking about the wedding, Avika says, “I am very happy that I am finally getting married to the man I have loved for six and a half years. I am a Kutchi and Milind is a Sindhi. We have decided to get married following Gujarati traditions.”
Navratri has played a significant role in their wedding plans. Avika shares, “This festival is close to my heart. We were planning to get married around this time of the year, so I chose Navratri to kickstart our celebrations. On the first day of Navratri, Milind and I went with our first wedding invitation card to seek blessings at Siddhivinayak temple.”
Asked why she chose to do something so personal on a reality show and she says, “I’m doing this for my audience. I started very young on television as Anandi in Balika Vadhu and the entire nation connected with me then, so I felt it would be great to share my joyous occasion with people who have given me so much love. This was also possible because of Milind’s support.” She further adds, “I don’t feel anyone would think I am doing this for the wrong reasons. After my announcement, I have only received good wishes and positivity.”
Avika confirms there won’t be another celebration after the show. “It was a decision taken after much thought. We are excited and looking forward to our big day. Milind and I feel extremely blessed to start this new chapter in our lives,” she shares.
Post-wedding, the actress plans to focus on her South film career. “I will take a short break and then start shooting for a Telugu film project,” she says.
