Shilpa quit Gangs of Filmistan even before the show could go on air. She had a major fallout with its producers and levelled serious allegations against them. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes TV, she had said "We have been shooting from seven in the morning to eleven in the night. I don't know where these association people are. Why don't they notice this.? How artists are being exploited. They are always there to sabotage someone's image but when we are working for 12 hours and more, nobody is raising a question. We were told that we will shoot for the show only twice in a week but we are shooting everyday."

Shilpa also accused makers of Gangs of Filmistan for lying to her. She claimed she had explicitly stated that she doesn't want to work with Sunil and was assured she would not have to but he was pretty much leading the show. She told ETimes TV, "When he is around, you can't do anything. He takes over the entire act. We are never given scripts, our gags get destroyed and we don't get to perform at all. I am not making a comeback to stand behind in the crowd and clap."

When Sidharth Shukla participated in Bigg Boss 13, Shilpa reportedly told an entertainment portal that he was her ex-boyfriend and accused him of being aggressive. She had even told us, "Sidharth is the channel's favourite and you can't deny that. They made him win Khatron Ke Khiladi even though he was evicted from the show thrice. They can do anything for the person they like. Everyone knows about Sidharth's bad temper and misbehaviour on the sets of all his shows."

Shilpa Shinde created a furore by quitting Bhabhi Ji in 2016 on a sour note. The actress, who played the role of Angoori Bhabhi in the sitcom, accused producers of torturing her mentally. She called Benaifer Kohli a tyrant and claimed her husband Sanjay Kohli harrassed her sexually. Her fallout with producers was a public one wherein accusations went on back and forth.

Not just the producers of Bhabhi Ji, but Shilpa Shinde did not receive the kind of support she wanted from Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA). Shilpa made headlines in Bigg Boss 11 for her fights with Vikas Gupta who she held responsible for her ouster from Bhabhi Ji. Shilpa did't spare him in the show and alleged that Vikas had made an MMS with a Hindi porn artist who looked like her without make-up. Even Vikas called her a 'psycho'. The two fought daily in the house but eventually became cordial with each other.

Shilpa, who was set to tie the knot in 2009, broke her engagement with Romit Raj and accused him of being 'too calculative and dominating'. In her recent interview with BT, Shilpa said, "Romit and I were engaged a long time ago and I was very young at that point. I didn’t want to settle down at that time, but everyone around me felt it was the right age to get married. Subsequently, things didn’t work out between Romit and me, and the relationship fell apart. After my engagement broke off, I did get into another relationship, but that was a very bad experience. Maine apne kaan pakad liye that I would steer away from relationships. I’ve realised that I am happy being single. I can’t be answerable to anyone. When I am working, and if someone asks me where I am going or what I am doing, I can’t keep answering him."
