The show revolves around the life of Ashoka- from his struggle as the child of Bindusara to how he rose to power and finally his journey towards Buddhism. Ashoka’s journey was set in motion when Chanakya set out to look for Bindusara to take over the throne and protect Magadh from the Greek Army General.

The story is also about Sooraj (Anas Rashid) who is a self-made man. Sooraj and Sandhya get married under strained circumstances and her mother-in-law does not accept that she could become an officer. Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi on Colors: Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi is a fate-stricken love story of Ranveer and Ishani. A relation which started off on a note of friendship saw great hardships and is currently in turmoil. Set in present-day Mumbai, the show presents the story of Ranveer (Shakti Arora), the son of a driver and Ishaani (Radhika Madan), the daughter of a rich businessman. Ranveer is forced to play matchmaker between Ishaani, the girl he loves and Chirag, the man her family want her married to. The show is produced by Ekta Kapoor. The tune of the song ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from the movie Aashiqui 2 was acquired by Kapoor as the tune of the show. The show also marks the comeback of Gauri Pradhan Tejwani to television after five years.
