Why is Jayati Bhatia being portrayed as an old woman?

Jayati Bhatia, who’s a contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, is quite happy to be the ‘senior’ participant on the dance reality show.
For some reason, the actress has been projected as somebody much older than her real age. And this has baffled a lot of people who know Jayati well.
The lady, just 12 years ago, played Kirron Kher’s daughter in the serial Kanyadaan, and in recent years too she played rather young characters in a number of serials.It’s only in her current show Sasural Simar Kathat she is playing the seniormost member of the family. That’s probably why the channel is projecting her as their oldest contestant. Jayati doesn’t seem to mind this because it can boost her prospects on the show. “Jayati is surely younger than Talat Aziz. In fact I won’t be surprised if she is younger than Madhuri Dixit too,” says a TV actress, on condition of anonymity.
