Shivya Pathania, essaying Devi Parvati’s role in Baal Shiv, shares, "I feel the contribution by women is not always acknowledged due to gender biases. Especially in India, we grow up in families that talk about male supremacy. For instance, we have all seen our mothers having food after our fathers. Though it is treated as an act of respect, it ends up sending a strong message of male superiority, misleading a whole generation into gender inequality."

She added, "This year’s theme of 'Break the Bias' is a burning topic, and I feel more and more people should talk about it and create a society where both men and women are treated with equal respect. The innocence of women has always been misinterpreted by society as a weakness. A woman can take the world by storm – the one who is aware of her potential, strong and fearless. I feel proud of how women in my country are progressing in various spheres, and I wish to see all these women grow and make India proud. Happy Women’s Day to all."
