Reema Lagoo had entertained with her acts in the field of Bollywood, television and theatre.
In a social media post, Swati shared a few pictures of the late actress and wrote, “Happy birthday to you my friend! Stay happy wherever you are!”
Apart from doing numerous films, Reema Lagoo made her presence felt in the television as well. She started her film career in 1964 with a Marathi film titled Masterji. In 1985, Reema Lagoo appeared on television for the first time with the show Khaandaan. The show also starred Neena Gupta,
Girish Karnad, Shernaz Patel, Tinu Anand and others.
The actress is mostly known for her roles in hindi sitcoms like Shrimaan Shrimati and
Tu Tu Main Main
. Later, she was also seen in shows like Dhadkan, Kadvee Khattee Meethi, Lakhon Mein Ek and Kirdaar.
She was last seen in
Naamkarann
, where she played the role of Dayawanti Mehta, an orthodox religious Hindu woman. The show was inspired by the 1998 Bollywood film Zakhm which was based on the life of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
The actress’ demise on May 18, 2017 came as shock to the entire industry.
