Kanchi was last seen in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and since then she has been on a two-year break during which she worked on herself. The pretty actress has a perfect bikini body and says that she is comfortable flaunting it on a TV show.

In an interview with BT Kanchi says, “I spent these two years travelling and working on myself. I believe that it’s important not just for actors, but for everyone to be fit and have a good body. I attained what I set out for in three months. Many people asked me what I was doing at the gym despite being so thin. For them, gymming is all about losing weight. What they don’t realise is that being fit is more important than anything else.”

She added saying, “I have really worked hard on myself. I am comfortable in my skin and wearing a bikini on screen, including on a TV show. There is nothing vulgar about it. I feel people need to change their outlook towards TV actresses. Why are we questioned for wearing a bikini, while film actresses aren’t? There are so many TV actresses who look stunning in a bikini. Why can’t a bahu flaunt a bikini bod? If they are comfortable doing so, no one should question their choice. Sadly, every actress gets labelled as a bahu even if she doesn’t tie the knot on a TV show. This is why they are often asked questions about their bold off-screen avatars. I feel that people should change their mindset towards us.”

Apart from fitness, Kanchi loves travelling and was exploring the world with her better half. After quitting the show, Kanchi travelled extensively and had a gala time. She said, “I visited eight-nine countries over the last nine months with Rohan (her beau Rohan Mehra). Both of us are alike and share a penchant for travelling, we love exploring new places.”

Kanchi and Rohan met on the sets of Yeh Rishta and played the role of on-screen siblings. The two fell for each other and within no time started dating. Since two years, the lovebirds are going strong and their PDA pictures are proof of it.

Kanchi talks about her thought on marriage. “Rohan and I are focused on work right now. I am too young for marriage and still have a long way to go. Professionally, I haven’t achieved what I wish to, so, marriage will have to wait. Also, we are very secure about each other — distance and time don’t affect our relationship.”

The actress says that she is now trying her luck in films, both in Bollywood and South. However, that doesn’t mean that she is averse to TV. “I want to do films, but that does not imply that I have taken a break from television. It will always be my first priority and I am waiting for the right project to come my way. Fortunately, I am from Mumbai, so I don’t have to deal with the pressures of sustaining here on my own.”
