Speaking about the same exclusively with ETimes TV, Chandrakala said, "

Dasa Purandara

is a very special project for me as it marks my 50th serial on Kannada television. That's not all, it is the first time I will be featuring in a devotional daily soap. It is special as the story is all about the saint-poet 'Purandara Dasa'. It is entirely a different concept to work."

The actress will be seen playing a prominent role in the soon-to-be-launched daily soap. She will be essaying the character 'Shantamma' in Dasa Purandara.

"Nearly twenty years ago, I had essayed a character named 'Shanta' in the daily soap 'Modala Mane'. The character had indeed won many accolades back then. Coincidently, I share the same character name in the new show as well. I essay the character 'Shantamma' in Dasa Purandara. I feel elated to play two characters with the same name. I also feel a few character names bring me luck in my career," shared Chandrakala.

Dasa Purandara marks a new milestone

"Dasa Purandara is a big milestone in my career as it is the 50th project in my career. I consider myself lucky enough to bag a project even amidst this pandemic. It is also difficult to be a part of big projects lately. But, I am fortunate to be a part of many superhit serials in my career. Of course, it was never a cakewalk. I have had my own ups and downs in my entire acting career. Luckily, I have always worked with amazing teams. Whatever I am today, I completely owe it to my directors and the viewers. If not for their support, I would not have made it so far today," averred the ace actress.

Life after Bigg Boss
"Bigg Boss got me closer to the Kannada audience even more. They have got to know a lot more about me and my personal life. And the love they have showered on me is immense. I feel elated and overwhelmed at the same time," said the actress.

She then summed up, "Post Bigg Boss, I was also waiting for a good project. I was even keener as it would be my 50th project as well. I wanted it to be different and a special one. That's when Dasa Purandara came my way. I am actually looking forward to this project. This is also my first outing on Kannada television post-Bigg Boss."
