Yamuna Srinidhi's honest confession

Yamuna Srinidhi, who is one of the most popular faces of the Kannada entertainment industry, has carved a niche for herself in the industry. The actress has made a mark with 37 movies and 12 mega serials in just a span of 7 years after returning from the US.

In an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, the actress shared her honest opinion about her understanding of technicians and their role in the successful execution of a project.

Why Manasaare is special

Currently, Yamuna is seen playing an antagonist in the popular show Manasare. Her character in the show has gained immense popula

Nails a dual role

Interestingly, Yamuna plays the role of twins 'Kausalya' and 'Vasuki' in Manasaare. While Kausalya is the mother of the protagonist in the story, she plays 'Vasuki', the antagonist too. As per the storyline, Kausalya passes away delivering a baby. However, she is seen occasionally and appears in the flashback sequences.

'I feel uncomfortable to accept those compliments'

"Being an actor working in films and TV, I often get compliments for my looks, mannerisms, costume and performances. But I feel uncomfortable to accept those compliments. I would like to humbly confess to my audience that none of these compliments are actually mine. There are many people working tirelessly and selflessly behind the camera bringing life to the story and the characters you adore," shares Yamuna.

5/9

Accredits the fame to the people behind the camera

"Director skillfully molds the character and makes sure we artists follow that. The writer enhances the character by giving apt and catchy dialogues, a cameraman makes sure we look the best on-screen," mentions the actress.

Hails the script and direction team

"Director, associate directors and writers breathe the characters. We artists wouldn't even know what the scene is until we enter the sets, but these people work on it while we are resting at home. We artists even get breaks in between the shots, but the technical team never gets to rest, they work round the clock," she added.

7/9

'I have never seen a technician crib or complain'

"I have never seen a technician crib or complain about anything much about the shoot. In fact, they won't even get paid as much as we artists do unfortunately and no recognition either."

8/9

'Having gratitude is the least we artists can do'

"I feel it's my duty as an artist to make it known to the audience that we artists are literal characters and the technical team is the real mastermind. Technicians create artists and showing them gratitude is the least we artists can do for them."

9/9

Yamuna's unfulfilled desire

"I desire to work as a technician just to understand their journey and challenges. I want to learn how these technicians work selflessly without complaining about anything," she concluded.
