Daily soap opera Sundari is the latest serial from Kannada television which is getting remade in Bengali. The show is set to go on air from July 19. The promo, which is quite similar to the original show, has already created a buzz on Bangla television.

A source from the channel says, “If the essence of the story crosses regional barriers, we will show interest in doing it in other languages.”

The plot of the story revolves around a girl hailing from a lower middle-class family called Sundari who lives in a village and is often ill-treated by other villagers due to her dark skin tone. Unperturbed, Sundari overcomes her challenges and achieves her dreams of becoming an IAS officer.
