Bigg Boss Kannada 12: Anchor Jhanvi opens up about divorce after 12 years of marriage
In a candid revelation on Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12, anchor and actor Jhanvi spoke openly for the first time about the reasons behind her divorce following 12 years of marriage.
Jhanvi, who is currently participating in the reality show, had until now avoided detailing the exact cause of her separation. However, during a conversation with fellow contestant Mallamma inside the Bigg Boss house, she shared parts of her story, stating that she did not 'just walk away' lightly and that deeper issues had led to the breakdown of her marriage.
She emphasized that the sanctity of marriage must be preserved and that the roles of husband and wife are not interchangeable. According to her, when her partner’s role was "assumed by someone else," the foundation of the relationship collapsed. Jhanvi also revealed that alcoholism was among the contributing factors that strained the marriage.
She further disclosed that before her divorce was legally finalized, she had begun receiving career opportunities, including film offers. At that time, she felt both partners needed to make joint decisions regarding finances, career paths, and relocations—something she believed was missing in her marriage.
In an earlier interview, Jhanvi had explained that she did not want to deceive her conscience by continuing in a mismatched relationship. Over time, small disagreements grew, and she realized that differences in expectations, thought processes, and lifestyle had created an irreparable rift. After nearly two years of trying, she accepted that separation was inevitable.
Speaking about her personal life now, Jhanvi clarified that she has no plans to remarry. Her former husband, Karthik, has since remarried and has a child. Jhanvi said she is content being single, focusing on raising her son and rebuilding her life.
Her openness has been widely noted as a courageous move, breaking the silence around divorce and marital struggles in public conversations.
