Drama Juniors-2 contestants perform street play to save Bengaluru

Contestants of the acting reality show, Drama Juniors-2, had performed live for the first time at the

Rangoli Metro Art Center

in Bengaluru. The participants from the reality show enacted a street play, reviving the memories of yesteryear Bengaluru, and, how it has lost its green cover in the name of urban development. The theme of the play was to create awareness among the public on how Bengaluru needs to be protected.

The play titled as Hello Bengaluru was enacted by eleven participants from the reality show-Amit, Vamsi, Anup, Aradhya, Alap, Preetham, Viksha, Sreesha, Harsha, Shravya and Sumit. The plot was curated to rekindle the spirit of every Bengalurean to protect the city from pollution and growing population, changing cultures and encourage every new comer to speak in the local language

Commenting on the performance, Director of Drama Juniors-2,

Sharannayya

said, “This season of Drama Juniors has given these children a good platform to learn some of the best concepts and genres that exist in theatre and acting from our traditional Kannada theatre forms to Sanskrit scripts to different elements of international theatre. For the first time ever, we have stepped out of the sets and gave these children a chance to display their acting skills, without any retakes or interruptions. It is truly inspiring to see how these young children have taken it up as their responsibility to save Bengaluru from becoming concrete jungle through this street play as we have lost lakes and hundreds of trees in the name of development.”

Drama Juniors-2 realiy show has given the platform for children in the age group of 5 to 13 years through a series of tasks and challenges which will groom them as actors and test their creativity, spontaneity and acting capabilities. They are showcasing their acting talent in front of accomplished judges who will not rate these contestants but also fine tune them. The judges of the show are actors Mukhyamantri Chandru, Lakshmi and Actor Vijay Raghavendra. The show is hosted by Master Anand.
