Exclusive - Bigg Boss Kannada 9’s evicted contestant Prashanth Sambargi

After a successful stint of seventy-seven days inside the Bigg Boss house, senior contestant Prashanth Sambargi is the latest candidate to get evicted from Bigg Boss Kannada season 9. The finalist of Bigg Boss Kannada season 8 made a grand entry into season 9 of the reality show during the season premiere and managed to entertain the viewers with his interesting stint. However, Prashanth's stint inside the Bigg Boss house as a senior contestant was no less than a roller coaster ride. The former had his share of arguments, voiced out when necessary and was also at his entertainment best during his stint. With Prashanth Samabargi being evicted from the reality show now, ETimes TV caught up with the former for a quick interview, where he opened up about his journey in Bigg Boss Kannada season 9.

‘It was a privilege to do Bigg Boss Kannada season 9’

Not everyone gets a chance to re-enter the Bigg Boss house immediately after taking part in the previous season. So, it was a privilege for me. When I got a call for Bigg Boss Kannada 9, I initially thought I was approached to enter the reality show for a day or so. But, I was told I will be entering as a senior contestant. So, I immediately gave a nod to it. But after agreeing to it, wondered if the viewers would accept me again. I felt I could be very predictive to the viewers as they had already known me as a contestant in season 8. Basically, it was a mixed thought about both the pros and cons. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every moment inside the Bigg Boss house.

I have only voiced out when the situation demanded

If I am known as a fightercock or a rebel, it of course offends me. I was not on Bigg Boss for arguments. I voiced out only when the situation demanded. I spoke when there was a lack of clarity inside the Bigg Boss house, when someone did a mistake and wanted to get away with it. Comparatively to my participation in season 8, I had mellowed down this time. I was prepared only to be vocal only when required.

Everyone has the urge to showcase their strength

Everyone wears a different kind of hat just to be a contestant there. But, when you remove the jersey or the hat of Bigg Boss, everyone there is an amazing human. The moment they project themselves as a contestant of Bigg Boss, everyone has the urge to showcase their strength. Likewise, for me, raising my opinion when necessary was my priority. I might have hurt my co-contestants, but I wanted to tell them what is right and what is wrong whenever required.

My graph was different in season 9

In season 8, I won all the captaincy tasks and took over captaincy duties for four times. This gave me a lot of success and confidence. Looking back at season 8, I was the captain of the house four times, and three times I had won the best performer tag, and also the worst performer tag. I even won 'Kicchana Chappale' once that time. But, my graph varied here in season 9. Also, this time, the captaincy task was a tie between me and Roopesh Rajanna. Eventually, there was a voting process between the housemates themselves. So, maybe at that point in time, the inmates felt I was better off than Rupesh Rajanna and voted for me.

There are several times Rupesh Rajanna has taken a dig at me and my works

I and Rupesh Rajanna have entirely different ideologies and political stands. I am a person with rightist and nationalistic agenda. While Rupesh has a different thought process. My social work is documented and result-oriented. Whereas, Rajanna and his works are more digital games. He is vocal about various digital media platforms while I am vocal on the streets raising my voice against the wrong. Even in the past, there are several times Rupesh Rajanna has taken a dig at me and my works. I knew very well that he would use the same trump card even inside the Bigg Boss house as well. So, I needed to be vocal to defend myself. I took the aggressive method to mellow him down. So, I cut him short there.

7/11

I started playing defense

At one particular time, I was called by Bigg Boss and was asked for an explanation for the words I had spoken. So, that actually got me a little on the sober side. From the day I got a warning from Bigg Boss, I started to realise that my words have been causing chaos outside the house. So, I started playing defense. It somehow slowed down my game.

8/11

I was very very successful in making Rupesh Rajanna fall prey to my prank

I come from a non-entertainment background. In fact, entertainment is a business to me and not acting as a core subject. I have distributed movies and produced them. I am also a businessman and have an active social life. So, when it comes to the entertainment factor or playing a prank on someone, I was very very successful in making Rupesh Rajanna fall prey to my prank. This has been a memorable one.

9/11

It was my mother's biggest dream to enter the Bigg Boss house

It was my mother's biggest dream to enter the Bigg Boss house. She had asked me the same when I came out of the house during the first innings of Bigg Boss Kannada season 8. Although I tried a lot to fulfill her wish, it could not happen owing to the Covid-19 protocols. But this, the most memorable moment inside the Bigg Boss house was when my mother entered as a guest during the family week.

10/11

Roopesh Shetty is a complete entertainer

According to me, Roopesh Shetty is a complete entertainer. He is a blend of an actor, director, and lyrics writer and he knows what entertainment is all about. I think he is playing well to the audience, came and emotions.

11/11

Rupesh Rajanna can be a sudden game changer

Well, considering the latest developments, I strongly feel Rupesh Rajanna can be a game changer. He seems to be performing well. But at the same time, I have a very strong feeling that Roopesh Shetty might win the trophy.
