, one of the most popular actors of the Kannada film industry, is back on the small screen after a long break. The actor will be seen playing the role of a doting father in the upcoming show '
Sarasu
'.
Abhijith will play Skanda Ashok's father.
Skanda Ashok is playing the male protagonist in the show.
The channel airing the show has released a new promo which gives a glimpse of the bond between the on-screen father-son duo.
As per the promo, Skanda, the lead character is seen preparing a cup of coffee for his father. He not only serves coffee but also wishes his father a very happy 'Mother's day', which gives a hint that the father is a single parent and has nurtured him like a mother.
However, the promo takes a transition as it introduces its female lead character which is essayed by actress '
Supritha Satyanarayan
'.
Meanwhile, Abhijith had earlier made his presence felt in the show 'Mangala Gowri Madve'. He played the guest role of an influential lawyer.
The actor had earlier hosted the popular singing reality show 'Aksharamale', which was aired on a general Kannada entertainment channel. He was seen hosting the show for fifteen years since 1997.
He started his career as an actor in the late 1980s and did many films in the 1990s and 2000s. He mainly played lead roles and villains in the 1990s and some supporting roles as well.
Besides this, he is also a director, producer, and a playback singer.
