Kavya Sha opens up about her leg surgeries, Credits Sudha Chandran as inspiration
Reality show and film actress Kavya Sha has inspired fans with an emotional and motivational message about perseverance, revealing that she continues to dance despite undergoing surgeries on both her legs.
Sharing a heartfelt video on social media, Kavya opened up about the physical challenges she faces and the mental strength that keeps her going. The actress revealed that her left leg contains a metal plate and three screws, while her right leg has also undergone surgery. Despite this, she continues to practice intense dance routines regularly.
“I have a plate and three screws in my left leg. My right leg has also undergone surgery. In short, both my legs have been operated on. Even then, I continue to dance. Every week, I do heavy dance workouts for at least two to three days continuously for about an hour,” Kavya said in the video.
Kavya credited veteran dancer and actress Sudha Chandran as one of her biggest inspirations. She praised Sudha Chandran’s remarkable determination in continuing Bharatanatyam and Indian folk dance performances despite losing a leg in an accident.
“She is my inspiration. Even without one leg, she performs Bharatanatyam and Indian folk dance brilliantly,” Kavya said. She also pointed to Indian para-athletes who have brought glory to the country through their achievements at the Paralympics.
“Many para-athletes representing India in the Paralympics have won medals. They never see their limitations as weaknesses. Instead, they put in complete effort, willpower, and strength to succeed,” she added.
The actress also addressed the mindset of people who give up easily due to minor discomforts or temporary setbacks. According to Kavya, success often depends more on mental resilience than physical capability.
“We often decide to start something on our own, maybe a small business or some personal work. But the moment we get a slight cold, cough, fever, or discomfort, we decide to take a break and stop working,” she explained.
While emphasizing the importance of rest during genuine illness, Kavya said many people mentally surrender before their bodies truly need a break.
“Their mind gives up before their body does,” she stated.
Highlighting the importance of consistency and discipline, Kavya said people who continue working despite difficult situations are the ones who eventually achieve success. She compared such determination to the mindset of soldiers and athletes.
“Look at the mindset of soldiers. When they are protecting the border, they cannot simply stop because of pain or injuries. They cannot keep giving excuses. We may not be able to completely adopt a soldier’s mindset, but even if we adopt 20 percent of an athlete’s or soldier’s mentality, we can become successful in life,” she said.
Kavya’s powerful message has resonated with many on social media, with fans praising her honesty, resilience, and dedication towards dance despite her physical struggles.
