, has renewed the adoption of Love Birds for a period of one year at the
Mysuru Zoo
on the occasion of his birthday.
Speaking to us,
Shivaji Rao
says, "I have been adopting Love Birds from the last 18 years on the occasion of my birthday. It is my way of doing my bit to animals. I also feed pigeons atop of my home terrace. I also adopted birds on behalf of my granddaughter for the last five years."
The animal adoption scheme at the Mysuru Zoo is quite popular among celebrities and regular people. Started in 1984, it has seen a steady stream of supporters, after it was announced that the scheme was to help meet the daily expenses of the animals and birds.
