Actor Vinay Gowda has been one of the most popular faces on Kannada television for his role in the mythological series 'Hara Hara Mahadev' where he was seen as Lord Shiva. In fact, many still recognise the actor for playing the part.

However, not many know that the actor went to lengths to meet the needs of his on-screen character. Vinay went on to even change his eating habits and quit having non-vegetarian food until the show wrapped up its journey on television.

Speaking about the same in an earlier interview with ETimes TV, Vinay Gowda had revealed, "I was asked to shed my weight by the makers of Hara Hara Mahadev. So, I lost 8 kilos in just ten days. The makers were very particular about the character and encouraged me. They gave me enough time to lose weight. Apart from that, I didn't touch non-vegetarian food during the entire shoot of Hara Hara Mahadev as I was playing the role of Lord Shiva."

Not just quitting non-vegetarian food, but the actor also worked hard to work on his vocabulary and dialogues.

"Picking up the language was quite a task for me. I would go bonkers upon receiving my scripts and dialogues. It would be very long too. So, every night, I used to get back home after the shoot and work on my language. The initial days were very tough. But things eventually changed by each passing day," the actor recollected.
