Actor Vivek Gopan set to contest in Assembly elections from Aruvikkara
Yet another Malayalam TV star is set to contest in the upcoming assembly elections of 2026. Actor Vivek Gopan, known for his character Sooraj in Parasparam, will be contesting from Thiruvananthapuram's Aruvikkara constituency, representing the BJP.
Sharing a video just before his nomination submission, Vivek requests support from everyone as he promises to work hard for the development of his constituency.
Vivek Gopan is one of the known faces in the Malayalam entertainment industry. He made his debut with the popular show 'Parasparam,' and his character is still loved by fans. After Parasparam, he was seen playing meaty roles in shows like Thenum Vayambum, Karthika Deepam, and more. Currently, he is playing a meaty role in 'Anju Sundarikal.' Not just on TV, Vivek was much more active in movies too. Kuttanadan Blog and Bazookka were some of his movies. Along with his acting skills, Vivek is also a cricketer and a fitness freak.
It is not the first time that Vivek will be contesting in the elections. He had contested in the 2011 Kerala Legislative Assembly election from the Chavara constituency.
Along with Vivek, former Bigg Boss contestants Akhil Marar, Robin Radhakrishnan, and Vertha Alla Bharya fame, Promy Kuriakose are also contesting in this year's election. On a similar note, actors and former Bigg Boss contestants Veena Nair and Lakshmipriya were also declared to be candidates this year, but reportedly, they were ineligible to contest since their names were absent from the voters' list.
