From Akhil Marar to Jinto: Bigg Boss Malayalam contestants who courted major controversies

Bigg Boss Malayalam has often served as a turning point in the lives of its contestants, propelling many into the limelight. However, not all publicity has been positive. Several former housemates have found themselves in serious trouble post-show, ranging from drug-related cases to sexual assault allegations. Here's a look at some of the most controversial incidents involving former contestants:

A former contestant from Season 1, Shiyas Kareem was arrested in a serious sexual assault case. The complainant alleged that Shiyas repeatedly assaulted her under the guise of marriage, impregnated her, and later forced her to undergo an abortion. She also accused him of defrauding her of Rs 11 lakh.

Season 2 participant Pareekutty Perumbavoor was arrested along with his friends during a routine vehicle check for possession of illegal substances. The Excise team reportedly seized 10.5 grams of MDMA and 9 grams of cannabis from their vehicle. The seized narcotics were valued at several lakhs.

Akhil Marar, who won Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5, faced backlash over alleged seditious remarks made online in connection with the Pahalgam attack and the India-Pakistan border truce. A police case was filed against him under Section 152 of the BNS for a Facebook video that was considered a threat to the sovereignty and integrity of the country.

Season 6 winner Jinto has recently been embroiled in two major controversies. He was questioned by the Excise Department in Kochi in connection with a drug case. Following that, fellow contestants Sijo Thomas and Sai Krishna came forward with serious accusations of harassment and misconduct. According to them, Jinto allegedly lured aspiring actresses and models with false promises of film roles and even claimed he could secure them a spot on Bigg Boss.
