Kudumbasree Sharada's Prabin: I will never forget the anniversary gift sent by a fan who was in hospital bed waiting for her biopsy result

It is rare that a TV actor manages to win hearts with his debut show. Despite playing a supporting role in his first show, 'Chembarathi', Prabin is one of the top actors on Malayalam TV now. Handsome hunk, Vishnu of Kudumbasree Sharada had a long way before cracking the big break in his career. In a candid chat with ETimes TV, Prabin shared about his dreams, the path-breaking character Aravind and that one special gift.

Just like any acting enthusiast, Prabin got moved to Kochi, to attend as many auditions as possible to reach his dream. It was towards the end of his MBA course that he got a random WhatsApp forward informing him about the audition for an upcoming channel. Prabin attended the audition and he got cast as Arvind.

"I wanted to act, that was my goal. When movies stand as the ultimate goal in life, serial is my stepping stone to it," he said.

In 'Chembarathi', Prabin played the character Aravind, the brother of the main protagonist. Talking about his debut roles, the actor shared that it is one of the best things that has ever happened to him.

"I will always cherish Aravind. It was the best thing that can happen to a debutant. The character shaped the actor in me. Every day, I was keen on making Aravind better. If there is something better in me as an actor, all credit to Aravind. The character had motivated me a lot," Prabin shared.

In Kudumbasree Sharada, senior actress Sreelakshmi is seen playing Prabin's mother-in-law. Sharing his experience of working with her, the actor shared that he is still in awe of her acting style.

"Sreelakshmi's iconic movie 'Bhoothakkannadi' is my all-time favorite. So, for that fanboy, seeing her act itself is magic. Just like her, I got to play Aishwarya's son in 'Chembarathi', and every time I see her reels from Narasimham and Butterflies used to roll through my mind. Sharing the screen with such great talents, I used to think, 'Is this reality or a dream!'," Prabin gushed.

Currently, Prabin is playing the hero in 'Kudumbasree Sharada' and his layered character is much-loved by viewers.

"Vishnu has got many shades in him and I am enjoying every bit of it. I badly wished to be a central character of a show and this character is like a dream come true. Be it the mass entry I got in the initial episode, to the romantic sequence, or emotional moments, I call it my luck. Vishnu has got a lot of spheres to explore and it is challenging for the actor in me," he added.

Prabin is overwhelmed by the love audience is showing to him. When asked about his unforgettable moment by a fan, he narrated the incident of getting a surprise gift recently.

"It was my wedding anniversary recently. I got a cake and some other gifts delivered to my house. I was so happy and I wanted to thank the one who sent me this. I called the number and I was shocked when she attended the call from the hospital. The one who sent me the gifts was waiting to get her biopsy result. Still, I can't believe what made her think of me and my special day when she is going through one of the hardest times of her life. We, actors, don't do anything to the viewers, just that we entertain them. But, the way they carry us close to their hearts is unbelievable," he concluded.
