Malayali audiences can't get over the cult movie 'Thakara'. Written by Bharathan, and directed by Padmarajan, the movie starring late actors Prathap Pothen, and Nedumudi Venu, was nothing but a path-breaking movie in the history of Mollywood. Not just the men, the lead actress of the movie, Surekha, who played Subhashini also became a sensation back then. Decades after, the same Surekha is back to entertain the Malayali audience with a new serial.
Playing a chirpy grandma, Surekha is set to make her comeback in Malayalam with the upcoming show 'Ninnishatam Ennishtam'.
"Yashoda is a bubbly grandmother, who is her grandson's best buddy. She is not the sad, grey-haired granny you see on regular TV shows. She is very different. That is why I didn't have a second thought in picking the character. There were a lot of great moments in the show that I have enjoyed and I am sure that the viewers will also enjoy," she said to ETimes TV.
'Ninnishtam Ennishtam' starring Ameen and Sandra is a romantic comedy that portrays the love story of Vicky and Anjali. When Anjali, played by Sandra is an ambitious hardworking lady who aims to be a CEO of a reputed firm, Vicky (Ameen) is a fun-loving guy who wishes to be a homemaker. How destiny brings them together and how they end up in a beautiful love story forms the crux of the story.
The teaser of the show featuring the progressive ideologies of the lead character and the striking chemistry between the two grandmothers have already caught the attention of the telly audience.
The star cast of the show includes Ameen, Sandra, Surekha, Sreedevi Unni, Dinesh Panicker, Anoop, and more. The show is set to have its premiere on the 7th of August.
