Exclusive - Acting is in my blood; my 15 years of experience is helping me portray Jaideep better: Mandar Jadhav

Actor Mandar Jadhav is abuzz on social media; thanks to his TV show Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta. The actor, who plays the lead role of Jaideep in the show, is overwhelmed with the response of the audience. While exclusively talking to ETimes TV, Mandar Jadhav spoke about playing Jaideep after Shree Gurudev Datta on-screen, his 15 years of acting journey in the industry, and many more.

'Playing Gurudev Datta was challenging'

Mandar rose to fame with the mythological show Shree Gurudev Datta in which he played Lord Gurudev on-screen. Talking about it, Mandar said, "Dattaguru is a devotional character yet it has various shades. So, I tried to give my 100 percent. We all were aware that a single expression or dialogue might hurt the audience's sentiments. So, we all took significant precautions and limited our reactions. He was a Trimurti Avatar and playing it on-screen was a huge challenge for me."

About completing 15 years in the industry

After playing a mythological character, it was a huge challenge to play a character in a social drama. It would also help if you have the support of the audience who can accept you in all forms. I am glad the audience is supporting me. I was earlier in Hindi TV shows like Aladdin, Veer Shivaji and in 15 years of this acting journey, I realised that every character teaches you something, and your efforts never go wasted. I am utilizing my experience to portray Jaideep as powerfully as possible. Also, it's not easy to convince the audience with a social character after playing a mythological character Shree Gurudev Datta."

About on-screen chemistry with Girija

Girija and I have a fantastic friendship offscreen, and that reflects on-screen, too. We both help each other and understand well and I think that's why viewers are going gaga over our chemistry.

About inheriting the legacy of his father

For the unversed, Mandar Jadhav's father Subhash Jadhav was a veteran actor, his brother Meghan Jadhav is active in the Hindi TV industry and his wife Mitika Sharma is also an actress. Talking about it, Mandar said, "Acting is in my blood. My father was an actor and director in the '90s, but he quit the industry for some reason. My brother is working in the Hindi TV industry and garnering a lot of love from the audience. My wife is also an actress. I have grown up in such an environment where I have seen these insiders since my childhood. Our entire family gives advice and criticizes each other, and that's what keeps us inspired."

Working with Varsha Usgaokar

Working with Varsha Usgaonkar was like a dream come true moment. She is playing the role of my on-screen mother, but she is like a mother on the set as well. She never made us feel inferior. Her calm and composed nature made us feel absolutely comfortable on the sets.

Future projects

The entire team deserves the credit for Jaideep's action and fights sequences. I realized that I enjoy action sequences more. I had done stunts in Aladdin and Veer Shivaji as well. I will love to do action thriller projects if I get in the future, too.
