Exclusive - Bigg Boss Marathi 3 host Mahesh Manjrekar on returning to the show: Cancer scares but my willpower is strong

Renowned actor-director and Bigg Boss Marathi host Mahesh Manjrekar is all set to host the upcoming season as well. The show's grand premiere will be on September 19, and he is also excited about the show. At the press conference of Bigg Boss Marathi season 3, Mahesh Manjrekar answered the questions asked by Etimes TV and spoke about hosting show, his recovery from cancer, what qualities he feels a winner should have, and much more.

Hosting Bigg Boss Marathi 3 after a gap for 2 years

I am so excited to host season 3. The show is coming after 2 years, so I feel obviously there is excitement among the audience. Bigg boss is one hour of unpredictable entertainment. You can never predict anything. You don't know what will happen next. Also, I have a surprise in this season for everyone, and if I reveal anything now, there will be no fun.

3/9

Recovery from cancer

I was looking forward to the show, and suddenly I was diagnosed with a medical issue, and I did my surgery and got released. I am so happy now that I recovered and the dates got finalized too.

4/9

"I am cancer-free now"

Cancer scares, and it's a fact. I have undegone surgery. Current reports are saying that I am cancer-free. I am fine. Slowly I will get back more energy. It's a challenge to get back to your normal routine. My will power is strong, and I have patience.

5/9

Bigg Boss Marathi is a psychological show

I have patience, and Bigg Boss house needs patience. Contestants should know what to do and where and what to speak. Bigg boss is a psychological show, and you are tested every minute. You are a contestant and can be the winner only if you are psychologically fit.

Happy that I worked during lockdown

Lockdown was not that bad for me. I have claustrophobia, so I feel so caged and can't wear masks for long. When the unlock happened, I started working again and did one Hindi cinema and two Marathi films, so I was relieved. We should take precautions, and I am glad that I was working during the lockdown.

"After 70 days, I got vibes that Megha would win"

You can never plan anything in advance, and those who plan in advance, can not win the show. You have to react to the situation. Those who decide to win the show even before entering the show, never win. It all depends on how you react to a certain situation. After 70 days, I got vibes that Megha would win and the same with the Shiv Thakare, who won the second season. His reactions were honest, and that's the reason they won. (PC - Instagram)

8/9

"Its not a scripted show"

I sometimes feel that I do get involved easily with the contestants. Bigg Boss is not a scripted show. It can never be a staged show. I also desperately wait for a weekend special.

9/9

On social media trolling

Sometimes people troll me for being partial. But I dont care because I know I am not. It's not in my hands who wins the show. There is nothing in my hands. It is not a scripted show, and it's not possible to make the show scripted. People get disturbed, and people react on social media. People ask me various things and blame me for certain situations that happen inside the house, but I don't do anything. The one who becomes the favorite of the audience wins the show.
