Maza Hoshil Na fame Virajas Kulkarni: My approach towards TV industry was different because of my mom Mrinal Kulkarni

Marathi actor-director Mrinal Kulkarni’s son Virajas Kulkarni has recently made his small screen debut with the show Maza Hoshil Na. On the other hand, actress Mrinmayee Deshpande’s sister Gautami Deshpande will also be seen opposite Virajas in the show. In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, Virajas spoke about his onscreen character, working with legendary co-stars and his hobbies. (PC - Instagram)

Virajas is making his TV debut with the show 'Maza Hoshil Na’. Talking about it, Virajas said, "As my mother (Mrinal Kulkarni) and grandfather are in the field of acting, my approach towards Maratha industry was different. From the beginning, I was more interested in how shooting happens, behind-the-scenes and everything. After doing a scriptwriting course, I was doing acting as it is my hobby, but my real interest is in audio-visuals, writing and directing." (PC -Instagram)

Virajas always wanted to do a TV show. Talking about the same, he said, "I found this series very interesting. I received a call for an audition of this series and I recorded and sent my submission. Within 3 days I received a selection call and immediately started shooting for the series from its second day. It all happened so quickly that there was no time to think. But this is a huge opportunity for me. I have always wanted to do a series for the TV channel and now my dream is fulfilled." (PC - Instagram)

Talking about his onscreen character Aditya, Virajas said, "My character in this series is very interesting. I am revealing more and more information about my character day by day. Gradually, I have come to realize one aspect of this figure. On the first day, I was told that Aditya is Krishna. Just as there is a smile on Krishna's face, there is always a smile on Aditya's face. No matter how difficult the situation may be, he is patient and smiles. He is very positive, so while doing this role I think his positivity is also coming to me". (PC -Instagram)

Virajas is working with legendary actors like Vinay Yedekar, Vidyadhar Joshi, etc. Talking about this experience, he said, "I'm so lucky that I had the opportunity to work with such legendary artists for the first time. I have a personal connection with all of them. The work of these 5 greats has made an impression on me since childhood and I feel great working with them all now. From their experience, they tell me many things, point out if I’m wrong, and even encourage when an occasion goes well. They are so attractive that they sometimes make me feel my age. Talking about the atmosphere of the set, Virajas said, "The atmosphere on the set is exactly as it appears in the series. We all enjoy a lot on the sets of the show. These seniors actors are working with us and they are incredible. They are the reason we laugh a lot on the set. (PC -Instagram)

Maza Hoshil Na has a completely different storyline and script. Virajas said, "This series is very different. There is nothing in the series like what you always see on mother-in-law or triangular love stories on TV. This is a perfectly crisp family drama. Our directors and cinematographers have put a lot of thought into the series. The look of this series is absolutely fascinating so I'm sure the audience will feel something fresh and new while watching this series". (PC -Instagram)
