KTG: Sameer Wankhede on his recent controversies related to NCB, Shah Rukh Khan, receiving threats from the underworld, his relationship with wife Kranti Redkar, and more

In the recent episode of Khupte Tithe Gupte, One of the most talked-about NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) officers, Sameer Wankhede, marked his presence in the show. In the show, he spoke about his journey as an officer in the Narcotics Control Bureau, actions he took on airports to stop drug peddling, and his recent controversies with Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's drug case and more. He also spoke about how he is managing his family and wife, Kranti Redkar, getting trolled for marrying her, and more.

When asked about his early days as an NCB officer, Sameer said, "My first posting was in Andhra Pradesh's small village. It was a very small village. I worked there for a short period of time. Later, I was working at an airport. I was also in NIA, and it was a tough job. It is an anti-terrorist organization. I would meet drug peddlers and criminals on a daily basis. I sometimes feel bad because whenever I go for operations to find the criminals, they are often with their families or relatives, and mentally it's challenging."

"I want to make it clear to everyone that for me, celebs are Baba Amte, Sindhutai Sapkal, and other personalities. When I would work at the airports, I would file 3500 cases in total; among them, 100–150 were celebs and others were peddlers and hardcore criminals. People only see the celebs, but I always made the cases for others as well. I am a man of the law. My target is Rashtra Seva. I want to serve the nation, and the nation is first for me."

Sameer recalled the day when an attack had happened on him near the set of KTG and said, "When I came on the set of the show, I got nostalgic. I came here, and a few kilometres ahead, I was attacked by a group of Nigerians who were selling drugs openly. The Nigerian gang had weapons, and they had attacked our police force before, so we went there with our team. When one of the peddlers came close to attacking me, my one officer came in between, and he got injured. I got injured as well. I always say that there is nothing about glamour and all. People also say that I might be asking for money from people, but behind my duty is law and dedication. Money was never a motivation for me."

"I feel these are the only small criminals. I don't want to take their names and make them famous. I always get threats, and it is a very common thing for a person to like. I want to challenge them, and I am not scared of them. I had taken action against Dawood Ibrahim's brother and destroyed a few of his properties at his base in Dongri, Mumbai. He might have had a financial loss, but I don't care about it."

Sameer revealed to everyone that people often take risks with their lives for the sake of drugs. He said, "I want to tell everyone that people sometimes hide cocaine and drugs in their bodies. They sometimes eat it to escape from the airport. People who consume drugs have the misconception that the agencies and security of the airport are not capable of finding their crimes, but India has highly trained and capable forces to identify such people. Whenever people consume such drugs, sometimes we search them in various unwanted parts of their bodies, and it feels terrible sometimes."

Sameer's wife Kranti's small video was shown on the show, where the actress complained about Sameer, saying he had once asked her not to call him for 'stupid and insane' reasons. She said, "We were newlyweds, and I had crossed the signal without seeing the board. I did not know, and later the traffic police caught me and asked for a fine. I thought Sameer would help me because he is an officer, so I called him. I told him that the police are asking for a fine, and he told me to pay the fine and warned me not to call him for 'insane' reasons."

Sameer revealed on the show that people often trolled him for marrying an actress. He said, "People troll me for marrying Kranti and tell me that I am behind the celebs and I am married to an actress. She was not an actress at that time. She was my childhood sweetheart. I've loved her since my college days. We were together in college. I never asked and approached her but she asked me, and I said yes to her, and we got married."

The host of the show showed pictures of Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Mika Singh to Sameer and asked for his opinion, and Sameer said, "Who are they? I don't know. I did not even know who Mika was. I later learned about him. I just wish the best of luck to everyone."
