Sonali Raut CONFIRMS she won't return to Bigg Boss Marathi 6: 'Struggled to relate to the emotional tone, am big city girl'
Sonali Raut, known for her unapologetic persona and bold presence on reality television, recently made headlines with her brief yet talked-about stint on Bigg Boss Marathi 6. While her journey in the house was cut short due to health reasons, Sonali left an impression for speaking her mind, showing emotional maturity, and offering a refreshingly honest take on the dynamics inside the house. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, the actress opens up about Omkar Raut’s eviction, Rakhi Sawant’s entry, the cultural contrast she experienced on the Marathi version of the show, what lies ahead for her professionally, and much more.
Reacting to Omkar Raut’s eviction from Bigg Boss Marathi 6, Sonali Raut said she was taken aback by his sudden exit. “I think, I watched yesterday's episode. So, I saw him like he was shocked with the eviction. And I remember when my eviction was over, I told him, you please continue.”
She added that she had already encouraged Omkar to stay back and experience the show fully. “I am getting out because of my health reason. So, you continue the show because you want to stay and you want to experience this show. So, go ahead. All the best.”
Talking about Omkar’s journey, Sonali pointed out that everything was new for him. “I remember he told me that first time he held the mic. So, I think for him, it was first time with him when it came to television.”
On Omkar saying that the two could have had a fun, flirtatious angle had they stayed longer together, Sonali smiled and said, “Actually, that guy is very cute, no doubt. And I did tell him that.”
She further explained why things may not have worked in his favour. “It’s just that I think for him, it was just new. A lot of things were new and he was trying to catch up with a lot of things. Which he was getting lost also in the bargain.”
Drawing from her own experience, Sonali added, “Because obviously, you know, if even I am new on a show like that, even I will be lost. And so many things are happening. There is competition. There is pressure. There is like, you know, your survival instinct.”
Despite his eviction, she feels Omkar has a future ahead. “But yeah, with Omkar Raut, I would say that boy has done pretty well for himself. And he should look for new opportunities. And he has a lot of potential. So, he should do a television or movies or series like he should get into it like full time.”
Addressing her equation with fellow contestants, she said, “When it happened with Ruchita, obviously, I was new. You know, when I went on the show, they thought I'm very hoity-toity. I'm very like classy. I look down upon people, which is not the case.”
She admitted that she struggled to relate to the emotional tone of the Marathi version of the show. “Honestly, I didn't relate that much. Because I'm a big city girl. You know, I'm a little different. We are quite bold.”
She further explained why she held back. “I sat with everyone, everyone has their own strugge stories. When I saw them, you know, I felt like I cannot fight with these people. As it is, they are struggling. And it was visible.”
Sonali shared that hearing personal stories from contestants affected her deeply. “So, I was like, how do I deal with these people? Means, I literally felt, that they themselves are struggling.”
Looking back, she said, “In the end, like, whatever stay I had, it was, you know, good with everyone. It's just that my circumstances were different.”
She recalled meeting Rakhi just days before. “And I met Rakhi two days ago. And Rakhi is telling me, You come out of the house. And I am going in the house tomorrow.”
Though disappointed they couldn’t share screen space, she praised Rakhi’s personality. “But Rakhi is super entertaining. And I am sure she will go there and rock it.”
She added, “Rakhi is also gentle. Like we all look very strong. But, you know, we have that emotional side.”
Confirming she won’t return to the house, she stated firmly, “They asked me to go back. I said no way. I am not going back. I will never go back.”
Talking about what’s next, she concluded, “I have shows. And now I am doing vertical series. So that is in the pipeline. I will shoot from February onwards.”
She added, “I have a Valentine show. So I am going to Kathmandu. Then I have to go to Colombo.”
