Actress Shamili Sukumar joins the cast of ‘Vaanathai Pola’

The popular TV show 'Vaanathai Pola' enjoys a good fan base and receives a good response from the audience. In order to spice up the drama, the show's makers have roped in actress Shamili Sukumar for a new track. She will soon join the show, which tops the TRP chart, outshining other prime-time TV serials.

Talking about the new appearance in the show, Shamili Sukumar said, “I am really eager to act with such brilliant actors like Shreekumar Ganesh, Shwetha Khelge, Ashwanth, Thilak, Ashwin Karthi, and Santhosh Daniel. My special thanks to the director A. Ramachandran for giving me this great opportunity. I will give my best in the show.”

On the career front, Shamili Sukumar made her acting debut in the web series, ‘Roja.’ She played the role of Priya which was quite popular among the tele-audience. She subsequently acted in many serials like Thendral, Romapuri Pandian, Pasamalar, and Uthiripookkal.

The TV serial Vanathai Pola stars Shreekumar Ganesh, and Shwetha Khelge in lead roles. Along with Preethi Kumar, Ashwanth, Thilak, Ashwin Karthi, Santhosh Daniel, Senthil Kumari, Dhakshana, Manoj Kumar, and Dhakshayini in the supporting roles. The series is directed by A. Ramachandran.

The story of Vanathai Pola is about the close bond between Chinrasu and his sister Thulasi. Their parents died when they were young. Both were raised by their grandmother. Chinraasu is on the lookout for a perfect groom for Thulasi. However, she repeatedly rejects potential grooms as she doesn't want to leave her brother. As fate would have it, she falls in love with Chinrasu's nemesis, the Panchayat board officer.

The crux of the story is what happens between Chinrasu and Thulasi, whether Thulasi marries the groom chosen by Chinrasu, and how this affects their bond. One of Chinraasu's relatives, Rajapandi, is also interested in marrying Thulasi, but he is not regarded as an ideal match because he smokes and consumes alcohol too. When Rajapandi and the village Panchayat board officer meet face to face, the quarrel begins.
