Exclusive! Sivaangi Krishnakumar on ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’: 'Expect lots of fun, unexpected twists, and non-stop entertainment'

Popular singer, actress, and entertainer Sivaangi Krishnakumar has stepped into the role of a host for the exciting new kids’ reality show Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Known for her bubbly and energetic personality, she now faces a fresh challenge—keeping up with the boundless energy of children. In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, Sivaangi shares her experience hosting the show, behind-the-scenes fun, and why this show is unlike any other.

A new experience as a host

“Thank you so much. This is definitely a new experience. A new channel, a new environment. Actually, I haven’t interacted much with kids before. But through this show, I believe I am discovering a new dimension in myself,” Sivaangi revealed.

Matching kids’ energy levels

Sivaangi is known for her high-energy performances, but hosting Naanum Rowdy Dhaan has been a different ball game.

“When I compare my energy with kids, mine is actually less! So, I need to increase my energy. That’s why I make sure to work out before every shoot. For exercise, breathing, and stamina—it all helps me keep up with them!” she shared.

First reaction to hosting the show

“As usual, I was overthinking! Oh no! (laughs) I had a lot of questions in my mind. I asked so many people for their opinions. But deep down, I knew I wanted to try something new. That was the right click for me!” she added.

Unpredictable and funny moments on set

Hosting a show with kids means expecting the unexpected, and Sivaangi has had her fair share of hilarious moments.

“Oh, absolutely! There were so many funny incidents. Sometimes, the kids would take over the show, make up their own rules, and I’d just have to go along with it! One time, a kid started imitating me, and I couldn’t stop laughing. These little surprises make the show even more special.”

Difference between being a contestant and a host

Having been a contestant on Cook with Comali, Sivaangi knows both sides of reality TV. “Being a contestant means focusing on yourself, but as a host, you have to ensure the entire show runs smoothly. With kids, you can’t predict anything, so I have to be ready for anything! It’s a whole new experience, and I’m learning so much.”

What makes Naanum Rowdy Dhaan special?

“This show is not just about competition—it’s about fun! We let kids be themselves, and they bring so much innocence and energy. There’s no strict format; it’s all about creating enjoyable and memorable moments.”

Preparing for the role

Sivaangi took a unique approach to preparing for the show. “Honestly, I didn’t prepare in a specific way. I just reminded myself to be patient and to enjoy the process. I also watched a few kids’ shows to see how hosts interact with them. But once I was on set, the kids themselves became my best teachers!”

Behind-the-scenes pranks and fun

The mischievous kids have kept Sivaangi on her toes. “Oh, there were so many pranks! The kids would gang up on me and come up with all sorts of tricks. One day, they all decided to answer my questions with nonsense words just to see how I’d react. It was pure chaos but in the best way possible!”
