Sangavi's serial will create awareness

and Gokulam Veedu fame. “This is my 19th serial. As it was with my earlier works, this one, too, will create a lot of awareness about women’s rights,” says Harirajan, adding, “I have worked with Sangavi earlier for two of my films. When I had approached her for this serial, she readily agreed after knowing that it has a message. This serial is set in a village and revolves around an affluent family. Their daughter elopes with one of the workers and gets married. They have two daughters. But the family finds and kills her husband, and starts looking for their daughter and her kids, too. The woman moves to another place and raises the girls all by herself. But once the girls grow up, they fight for their mother’s rights and go back to the village. While

Lalitha

plays the mother’s role, Sangavi and

Meenakshi

essay the daughters’ roles. Sangavi will essay the role of a police officer.” Major portions of the serial is being shot in a village near Krishnagiri.

Harirajan says that he wants to keep his serials realistic. “Some serial portray characters in a modern manner. But when I am dealing with a family that hails from a village, I would like to keep it realistic,” he says.
