Anasuya Bharadwaj: Times when the actress-TV personality shut down trolls and voiced against age-shaming

Noted anchor-turned-actress Anasuya Bharadwaj is also one of the most trolled Telugu TV personalities as well; be it her photoshoots, choice of clothes and lifestyle as well. The actress is certainly not the one to spare trolls, age-shaming, bullying or abuse in any form. Here's a look back at times when the popular anchor has shut trolls.

She slammed trolls and abusive messages over her recent cryptic tweet on a recent Telugu release. She also gave a strong retort to netizens who are questioning her about not responding over 'double meaning jokes' in the popular show Jabardasth, which she hosted until recently, and her 'Anasuyatho kick radha' comment in her TV show 'Jackpot' as well.

evaridi hypocrisy??? (I dare you to question the makers and also the audiences instead of mudslinging someone like me who's questioning the wrong. Moreover, it is heroism if used in movies and 'cheap' when used in TV)

In her recent slew of tweets rebuking netizens over her cryptic tweet on a recent Telugu release, Anasuya also posed a serious objection to a section of them age-shaming her calling her 'Aunty'. Replying to a tweet by a user who tried to justified calling her 'Aunty', Anausya wrote, "Tappakunda tappe.. mee uddeshaalu veru.. you are pulling down someone by age shaming.. 40yrs unna 60 years unna.. you address them by “Mr.” “Mrs.” or “Miss” . Period. (sic)"

Earlier, when a netizen once asked her on Instagram if he or she should call her Akka or Aunty', "None. You don't know me too well to call either.. calling these names will only make one doubt your upbringing as it is considered age-shaming (sic)"

Anasuya didn't spare a netizen for calling an incident where she fainted on the sets of her TV show, a 'publicity stunt', and her an 'attention seeking b***h'.

"Now you my dear are an Attention seeking B*****d digging a three-year-old video using it just to abuse me b*tch?? uhuh, won't shy away from calling you, because you started it, but this is a bad me doing it, but the person my parents raised me is still there so the ***."

In another tweet, she wrote, "It's easy to comment, isn't it? Having punched out two babies and in the process developed low blood pressure and this particular "attention-seeking" incident took place at 5:30 am where we shot straight for 22 hours.. What exactly do you know to even notice?"

In 2018, Anasuya hit back at netizens, who lashed out at her for posting a video of a man watching video over phone while driving in heavy traffic. Responding to the backlash, Anasuya wrote, “Oh la la!!!!So much of a trolling for one genuine concern!!!!Anyway..my conscience is contended though..I guess l’d be just fine with it now..now that I know I made some news again?..but a kind request to all my dear media friends..please spread the right thing this time???. And anyway!! Nighty night my loves!!! Your Anasuya Bharadwaj is actually a nice person and means no harm.. nothing to over understand or misunderstand..quite straight I am no in what I say/do?? Always love and only love!!! Now off everybody?”

In 2018, Anasuya hit back at trolls in a video where she read out names of people who abused her for wearing what she did while hoisting the Indian flag on Independence Day. Explaining that she happened to hoist the flag upon the unexpected request of the hotel staff, Anasuya questioned, "What did I wear? Did I wear a bikini?"

In 2017, a social media user criticised Anasuya for her outfits in a TV show. “Do u have any sense Anasuya what is that exposing we can’t see the program with our family too,” posted the user on Instagram.

Anasuya quickly hit back saying, “Then you should opt not to watch, if you are so high on your family morals, then you should also know that you should NOT poke your nose in another's job.. you should NOT dictate what to wear to anyone…you should NOT take the liberty to talk to a public figure, a woman, a mother, a wife to someone else (sic)”

She adds, “It’s my business, my choice of what I wear and what I do…senses are in the control of the beholder. you will see only what you want to see…not what is shown. Why would there be child molestations?? Women as old as 65 years raped?? What “exposing” do you see in them??!! We are entertainers…and we jolly well know our job and limits more than you do…so I suggest you mind your life and restrict your diktats to yourself and NOT rub them on to others (sic)."
