The iconic
crime TV series
CID will return in Telugu with new episodes on a leading television channel. The show will be aired from Monday to Saturday at 10:30 pm. The channel made the announcement on social media, with the post "All new episodes of
#CID..Mon-Sat at 10:30 PM (sic)."
CID is an investigative series consisting of criminal cases that are solved by the Crime Investigation Department, headed by
ACP Pradyuman
(
Shivaji Satam). The crew also consists of senior inspectors Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastav) and Daya (
Dayanand Shetty) and inspector Fredricks (Dinesh Phadnis).
The series premiered on January 21, 1998 and is the longest running television series in India, having completed 20 years in January 2018. CID entered the Guiness Book of World Records and the Limca Book of Records on November 7, 2004 for its record-breaking single shot episode of 111 minutes (1 hour and 51 minutes) without a single cut. Titled 'CID 111/The Inheritance', this special episode was telecast on November 7, 2004.
Given the series' popularity, it has been dubbed in several languages, including Telugu and fans of the show in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have much reason to celebrate as CID's Telugu version is set for a long run with new episodes.
