Flora Saini on paying bail fees for prisoners: For them, it means hope; for the family, relief
Stree actress Flora Saini has taken a step towards supporting underprivileged prisoners by paying bail fees for those who cannot afford them. The decision was inspired by her experience inside the Bigg Boss Telugu 9 house, where a task led to her being sent to jail.
She says, “I was the first one to be put in the house jail. It was quite tough, with almost all the housemates against me. But one person who didn’t get along with me initially was the one who took care of me. That made me wonder how many innocent people might be inside.”
Explaining her motivation, she adds, “For the prisoner, it means hope and the chance to stay connected to life. For the family, it means relief and the strength to keep going. I have been able to help two people so far. We have to find out whose date is coming up and who does not have the means.”
Reflecting on her time on Bigg Boss Telugu, Flora describes the experience as transformative. She says, “It had always been a long-term wish to be on Bigg Boss, and finally my wish came true. I had a great time and learnt a lot about myself and about life. I often compare the Bigg Boss house to life itself. Like life, the show is unpredictable. You are put into unexpected situations, and it all depends on how you respond. Different people react differently to the same situation, and that is the beauty of it. Like life, you are also made to cross paths with people you may not like. The biggest lesson for me was to remain happy in every situation. The universe has a way of blessing people who choose happiness.”
Speaking about the emotional adjustment after stepping out of the house, she admits it was not easy. “Oh absolutely. A friend had told me there would be a pre- and post-Bigg Boss life, but I didn’t believe him. One month inside that house, with no phone and no family, changes you. You begin to trust your instincts and feelings more than words. I had difficulty even using my phone for a while after coming out. It took time to adjust to the people around me. I was emotionally very charged when I came out, and I had to consciously calm myself. I am grateful to the people in my life who were patient and understanding, because I was going through mental and emotional changes I hadn’t fully processed. Life does not return to normal with a snap of a finger. It takes time. But the experience was truly enriching.”
