From Swarna Khadgam to Mujhse Shaadi Karoge: All you need to know about TV actress Sanjjanaa Galrani

Sanjjanaa Galrani is abuzz on the internet; thanks to her foray into Hindi TV with the ongoing reality TV show Mujse Shaadi Karoge as Paras Chhabra’s prospective bride. The South Indian actress is already making news for her bold personality. Here’s all you need to know about her.

Sanjjanaa was the first one to enter the show as Paras Chhabra’s prospective bride. She introduced herself as ‘Ranio ki Rani, main hu Sanjjanaa Galrani’. In an interaction with Hyderabad Times, Sanjjanaa said, “I have to get married someday (laughs). So why not now? I have been watching Bigg Boss this season and I like Paras, so if he chooses me I don’t mind getting married to him. This show is going to be an adventure for me.”

Sanjjanaa, who has appeared in many Telugu and Kannada films, took telly audience by surprise with her foray into Telugu television. She has turned a household name with her debut Telugu TV show Swarna Khadgam. The Telugu-Tamil bilingual period drama features her in the role of Queen Mahadhatri.

Sanjjanaa made noise with her appearance in the debut season of Bigg Boss Kannada in 2013 hosted by superstar Kichcha Sudeepa. However, she did not return to Kannada TV later.

Sanjjanaa started her modeling career quite early and went on to feature in over 50 advertorials. The ad with John Abraham was one of her popular works as a model. She soon worked in Telugu and Kannada films as a child actor and within no time announced her presence in the industry with her debut Kannada film Ganda Hendathi, a remake of Hindi film Murder. Sanjjanaa went on to feature in many Telugu and Kannada films later.

In 2018, Sanjjanaa alleged that Ganda Hendathi director Ravi Srivatsa harassed her during the shoot of the film. The director dismissed the allegations and even demanded an apology for the ‘baseless allegations’. However, weeks after the accusation, Sanjjanaa apologised to the director upon actor Ambareesh’s intervention.

Sanjjanaa made headlines with her alleged brawl with producer Vandana. She was rumoured to have hit the latter with a beer bottle. However, in a media interaction later, Sanjjanaa clarified that she confessed that they had a fallout at the party but there was no physical altercation between them.

The model-actress was earlier linked with cricketer Virat Kohli, actor Rana Daggubati and other South Indian actors. However, the actress revealed in 2014 that she was in a relationship. In Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, Paras looked shocked that Sanjjanaa, who has done so many films, has come to marry him. To this Sanjjanaa commented, “I was in a serious relationship. I have an independent lifestyle and that time both of us wanted different things. He wanted to commit but I wanted to work and hence parted ways in a graceful way. But now I am ready to get married and hence left films to do this show.” Describing her past, she said, “I have a respectful past and I look back at it with a smile.”
