had gone viral on social media, bringing life to the dreams of many fans who believe they should date.
However, it was of course later found out that the same was for a
Ugadi special
skit on a leading Telugu television channel and nothing more. Amidst rumours that the two are seeing each other, the programme almost felt like it was pulling the legs of over-enthusiastic fans, while handing them in miniscule levels just what they wanted from the duo.
On the special, Rashmi and Sudheer met Nagababu, Roja and other ‘Jabardasth’ teammates, to invite them all to their ‘wedding’. The show had everything that a wedding consists of from sangeet to the murutam moment. However, the special episode ended with Sudheer waking up alone in his room, implying that he had dreamt the whole thing.
Viewers however have not been happy with the episode and leaving comments on social media regarding the same. One wrote, “@rashmigautam27 ..u people have done a cheap quality comedy in a show and u r taking Twitter as a stage and making people to believe that it is a good show... And u people have shown a once in life function called MARRIAGE in a vulgar way...better stop doing these type of shows.” (sic)
Another viewer held a long conversation with Rashmi that began with, “In the Name of modernization.. These people are making Traditions a JOKE by their Stupidy.. And they want to believe this as Good Practice by showing Their TRPs.. and some MORONS support their act.. My Ques to them is 'Will you allow your Family to participate in such Actions?'” (sic)
While if their self-righteousness is justified or not is a question for another day, but the fact that people don’t shy away from questioning one’s character and becoming the moral police at the click of a button is alarming. Rashmi Gautam however seems to have gotten the art of handling trolls down pat because the lady handled things like a pro and kept her cool.
