We must come up with creative ways to entertain people now: Tanish Alladi on his new collaboration with BB Telugu 2 contestants

Their friendship didn’t confine to the four walls of Bigg Boss house. Amid the lockdown, the former contestants of Bigg Boss Telugu season 2 have teamed up to entertain fans with a new Covid-19 awareness video ‘Bore Koduthundi’ that was shot completely indoors. Be it engaging themselves or entertaining fans, this lockdown is certainly inspiring celebrities to get their creative juices flowing. In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, Tanish Alladi tells us how they tried to keep this awareness video different and how the creative process kept him alive during the quarantine phase.

I was feeling very bored and low for a few days

The lockdown has gotten to me, too. I was feeling bored no matter how much I kept myself engaged in household chores or binge-watching. I lost my routine and felt very low in fact for a couple of days. I eventually realised and set my sleep routine right and started working out as well.

This video kept me busy and alive

The entire process of making this video indeed kept me busy and alive during this lockdown. It was in fact the best thing in the lockdown period and this experience is going to stay with me. I was always interested in direction but I’m glad I could do something creative during challenging times like these.

We didn’t want to be preachy

Roll (Roll Rida) just casually shared this tune in the group a while ago. It was very catchy and somehow I felt this can have a visual appeal, too. So, after a couple of discussions, we decided to do a video. Though it is an awareness video, we didn’t want to sound preachy. I’ve watched a couple of Covid-19 videos and after a point, skipped them because we knew the content. We just wanted to tell people that we understand that they are getting bored and also that we have to stay indoors no matter what but in an entertaining way. The concept of video calling, vertical videos, not going for a monochrome video were conscious decisions. Right from Roll (Roll Rida) who has composed the song, Santosh, the editor, to all my actor friends who shot for the video, did a brilliant job.

About the video not featuring a couple of BB Telugu 2 contestants

Everyone who’s in the video is like family. We hang out, party together and stay in touch no matter what. We share a great rapport. I can call them anytime, tell them what I want or ask for any number of changes. That comfort zone was important to us. Moreover, it is a greater responsibility on our shoulders to ensure that all the efforts of everyone who has contributed to the video shouldn’t go in vain. We want to be more bothered about getting the content right. We didn’t want to complicate it or get stressed about it.

About working from home

I think this will be the new norm. People are smarter now and we as creators have to upgrade ourselves and come up with innovative stories and creative ways to entertain them.

I haven’t done mopping a lot after stepping out of Bigg Boss house

I’m trying to help amma (mother) a lot during this lockdown. Besides the cooking and all, mopping is something I haven’t done in a while especially after stepping out of the Bigg Boss house (laughs).

Our relationships are growing stronger and meaningful

I've many hangout gangs indeed (laughs). But what I observed is that our relationships are growing stronger and more meaningful as we interact often.
