Star India launches regional sports channel

Tamil, probably the country’s first dedicated

Tamil sports channel

was launched on May 28. As part of the channel’s marketing campaign, #MachiAreYouReady (Buddy, are you ready), has commenced along with the launch of the channel featuring cricket icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The cricketer is also the ambassador of Star Sports and has a special connection with Tamil Nadu, courtesy the Chennai Super Kings.

Star Sports Tamil has an interesting line-up– starting with the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, followed by Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2.0), VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5 and Hero ISL. The channel will feature content with a line-up of eminent Tamilian hosts and commentators such as K Srikanth, L Sivaramakrishnan, S Badrinath, S Sriram, S Ramesh, and H Badani.
