Karnataka BJP MLA R Ashoka on May 24 reacted to Amnesty International’s demand to revoke the ban on women wearing hijab in educational institutes. While talking to ANI, R Ashoka said, that they will oppose the issue in Assembly. “Definitely we will oppose the issue in Assembly. Whatever we have done in the Assembly has always been in the favor of people. So if people react on this revoke, then we will definitely protest,” said R Ashoka. Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MLA, Basavaraj Bommai, alleged that there are lots of case against Amnesty International in India. “Amnesty International itself is under cloud. There are lots of cases against them. They have violated lot of Indian laws including FEMA. Congress leaders always supported Amnesty, so it is natural for Amnesty to say all this. But people are watching. Just because they have got some power, Congress can’t do and undo things which are very legal,” said Basavaraj Bommai.
