Karnataka: Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi stirs controversy, says 'word Hindu is Persian and has shameful meaning'
Karnataka state Congress president Satish Jarkiholi courts controversy over the word 'Hindu'. Jarkiholi said that the word 'Hindu' actually comes from the Persian language and it has a very 'dirty' meaning. He said that there should be a comprehensive discussion as to why a foreign word is being forced on us. Rejecting the remark, Congress has termed it 'deeply unfortunate'.
