Karnataka: Kalaburagi Corporation initiates birth control drive to check rising stray dog population

In a bid to control the rising population of the stray dogs in Karnataka, the Kalaburagi City Corporation has initiated Animal Birth Control (ABC) and Anti Rabies Vaccination (ARV) drive programs for the stray dogs in the city. The move came after the authorities received complaints about dog bites and related incidents. “We're planning to continue this drive for at least 45 to 60 days. They will be kept under observation after the operation. We'll drop them back to their respective places once their health improves,” said Kalaburagi City Corporation Commissioner Bhuvanesh Patil.
