“No god will say he or she should be housed in an illegal temple,” the Karnataka high court said on Wednesday. It directed the govt to take steps regarding the unauthorised Shiva Subramanya Swamy Temple, about 250km from Bengaluru. The court was hearing a PIL alleging the temple was illegally built on government land. As per the court order, the govt has to initiate steps based on the tahsildar’s report. The report says the temple was built on govt land and a forest offence case has been registered.
