Rape rate highest in India as women don’t wear hijab: Karnataka Congress leader

Karnataka state Congress leader Zameer Ahmed slammed Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan for his 'hijab is not essential to Islam' comment and said that India records a high number of rape cases because women don't wear hijab. Zameer Ahmed said, "Hijab protects the beauty of a girl. Today in India, I believe, the rape rates are highest. What's the reason? Because women are not under gosh-e-parda (Hijab)."
