Chandigarh: Wheat procurement operation starts at sector 39 grain market

Under the shadow of Covid-19 and controversy over direct benefit transfer (DBT), wheat procurement kicked off in Punjab from Saturday, April 10. It is expected that 130 lakh metric tonnes of wheat will be procured during the exercise. The Reserve Bank of India has already cleared the cash credit limit (CCL) of Rs 21,000 crore.
