Biplab Kumar Deb, the former Chief Minister of Tripura, narrowly escaped an accident in Panipat district of Haryana, when his car was hit by a truck while travelling from New Delhi to Chandigarh .As per eyewitnesses, his vehicle almost flipped over, but locals were able to rescue him and his driver and take them to a nearby hospital. Biplab Kumar Deb suffered minor injuries, Deb, who currently serves as a Rajya Sabha member and heads the Haryana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), regularly visits the state for party meetings and organizational initiatives.
