Expressing anguish over the fee hike, student political parties are holding series of protests and road blocks on Panjab University campus in Chandigarh. After NSUI staged a demonstration, other parties, including ABVP and SFS, too, joined the ongoing agitation. The protesters demanded a rollback in fee hike saying that it would hamper the growth of many students. In May, the members of SOI had staged a sit-in outside the VC's office to protest against the matter.
