15 acres of dry land of college campus converted into lush green reserve in Puducherry
Tagore Government Arts College, located in Lawspet, is one of the leading colleges in Puducherry. Principal, Dr Sasikant Das found the college premises in a dry, barren state and he got it transformed into a lush green reserve. While speaking to ANI, Dr Das said that it was a responsibility and an opportunity to turn the campus green. He believes that environment plays a vital role in education. With the collective efforts of college staff, the principal was able to plant 3,000 trees in a stretch of 15 acres of land. “It's not just about getting a college certificate ... it's about knowing what life is all about” said Dr Das.
