The Tamil Nadu government has regulated rates for COVID-19 treatment at private hospitals. It comes after the people started complaining about private hospitals overcharging patients for treatment. According to reports, the private hospitals can only charge Rs 5000 per day for general ward and if a patient is admitted to A1 and A2 category of hospitals, then they can charge Rs 900--13000 per day. It is being seen as a major respite for the people. Tamil Nadu has also reported a large number of covid-19 patients.
